MTB: Do you have a bunch of solo stuff that you are working on?   Jake: Well, yes and no. I have ideas kinda floating around but I did work on an EP, an electronic music EP, with Misha, the other guitar player in Periphery. We wrote a really sick EP we’re kinda mixing it […]

By Jess Metcalf RALEIGH’s promotional album only has two songs on it, however after the two songs I want to hear the whole album. The first song, Costume Party, is a bit of a slower song. However it picks up and is catchy, it’s a song you could listen to on a road trip somewhere. […]

By Austin Jeffers The latest release, 1544, of the California-based blues/roots rock band, Kingsborough is a strong comeback since their last release in 2015 with The Night, The Grind, and The Woes. The previous record demonstrated what their sound was: upbeat and energetic, solid riffs (that weren’t very dynamic), but at the same time sounding […]

By Alejandro Arceo With Critics calling Manchester Orchestra’s new album “A Black Mile To The Surface” “their most confounding and thrilling work yet, with the most grandiose narrative concepts, production, and arrangements of their career,” I would have to agree 100%. Along with their album comes strong impacting vocals by lead singer Andy Hull as can […]

Listening to the debut LP of Danish band, Baby in Vain, is like going through a wormhole from early 90’s punk rock. The album titled “More Nothing” transcends traditional genre and takes influence from Bands all across music. While the album relies heavily on its two guitarists Andrea Thuesen Johansen and Lola Hammerich, songs like […]

Somewhat ironically, Hazel English is an Australian Indie musician. Her double EP “Just give in/Never Going Home” is everything you could ask an Indie album to give you aesthetically. It has the soft sounding Indie pop vibes of bands Beach House & Best Coast. The whole album emanates Best Coast’s song “California Nights” from their […]

Baby Jesus revitalizes someone of rocks most influential names with their second album “Took Our Sons Away”. With retro psychedelic sensibilities, this is not what most people are listening to in 2017. The Swedish garage rock band’s album doesn’t give off the sound of a stadium-filling pop-artist. “Took Our Sons Away” is the LP of […]

MTB: Welcome back to The Metal Teddy Bear Experience here on 90.3 WMSC Upper Montclair this is your host Chris. I’m here at Rock allegiance with Joe from Gojira. What’s up man? How you doing? By: Peter Zezas If after listening to Neck Deep’s newest album, The Peace and The Panic, you find yourself wanting more pop punk vibes then Seaway is the band for you. The simplistic lyrics allow for the listener to sing along and jump around without thinking too hard. Vacation paints a picture that simply says […]

An indie/ alternative rock band, hailing all the way from Caracas Venezuela. Now relocated to the US, they released their first album in English, “Days of Exile”. Hear our interview and their exclusive acoustic performance of their song “Hey Mama” only on WMSC.

On July 22nd,  I attended the last show of Iron Maiden’s Book of Souls World Tour at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn. The tour began in February 2016, and had it’s first US dates then. June marked the second time the most iconic metal act toured the US in support of their 2015 release “The Book of Souls”.   I was fortunate enough to catch them twice on this last portion of their tour. The first time I saw them at New Jersey’s Prudential Center back in June.

According to a report from TMZ, he was found in his residence in Palos Verdes Estates in Los Angeles, it was said that he hanged himself. I’m sure […]

At Starland Ballroom with Chris Annunziata of The Metal Teddy Bear Experience   MTB: Welcome back to The Metal Teddy Bear Experience, this is your host Chris and I am with Mikael Akerfeldt of Opeth. By: Peter Zezas Cold War Kids newest album is called “L.A. Divine” and it’s genuinely interesting. The album artwork is a lonely palm tree somewhere in what looks like California. I have never listened to Cold War Kids before this and listening to their songs I get the essence of the Alternative group known as […]

By: Connor Faleski New Jersey’s own Real Estate has just released their new album “In Mind”, and with this new project comes a cleaner sound that hasn’t been heard on any other album in their discography. The synths are amazingly light, filling up all empty spaces that the punchy drums, bass, and refreshingly Mac Demarco-esque guitars […]

Jake Bowen of Periphery called into The Metal Teddy Bear Experience to talk about the band’s upcoming tour with Norma Jean, The Contortionist and Infinity Shred. He talked about previously touring with Norma Jean and the fun times they shared. In honor of March being Metal Month, Jake recapped his most metal moments of the […]

By: Pam Burrows Yours Conditionally is the fourth studio album from the band Tennis, made up of married couple, Alaina Moore and Patrick Riley from Denver, Colorado. The music on this album is reminiscent to the band’s previous works, as it is very calm, quiet, and easy to listen to. 2011’s Cape Dory served as […]

By: Peter Zezas To start off with the album artwork, I really like the colorful X-ray of a person they have the cover. In fact, it actually looks like there is, not only, someone’s side profile but another person looking directly at you. I like how the album is called “Hot Thoughts” and they covered […]

By: Jonathan Hoch I was very pleased with all four songs on this album. I think the lyrics are very deep, and very poignant, but not too complex for anyone to not understand. The entire sound of the band is incredible, and I should also note that the lyrics for every song but specifically “Too […]

By: Noelle Florio On Tuesday, February 7th I attended my first ever “DNCE” Concert at the Wellmont Theater in Montclair, New Jersey. I only knew a few hit songs such as “Cake by the Ocean” and “Toothbrush”, but since I am big fan of Joe Jonas, the lead singer, I was very excited to see […]
