On September 16th, 6LACK finally came back with his sophomore album, East Atlanta Love Letter and he sure did come back hard. Best known for his platinum hit single “Prblms” off Free 6LACK (with one of my personal favorite album covers) from 2016, the rapper/singer from Atlanta returns right where he left off. With a blend of simple piano keys, beats with a textbook Atlanta sound, and his almost effortless flow, 6lack provides a solid project from start to finish that will definitely satisfy old and new fans.

Personally, I would rate the album somewhere from a 3.75 to a 4 at most. I found no flaws in the album and felt that every song was enjoyable, but there were definitely a handful of track’s that stood out amongst the rest. My personal favorites were “East Atlanta Love Letter,” a trap love story featuring Future, “Thugger Interlude,” a short and sweet song about 6LACK’s love for Young Thug’s music, and “Switch,” where 6LACK tells a story about changing perspectives.

Rating: 3.75/5 stars
