Malcolm Todd Gets a Standing Crowd at Radio City Music Hall

Written by on October 20, 2026

In April, Malcolm Todd played the Fonda Theatre. On September 23, he was at Radio City Music Hall, and I was standing in the photo pit for it, astounded the whole time. Five months is not a long time to go from one room to the other, and the show he brought looked like it knew that.

The stage setup and lighting were great, and the camera direction that showed off different parts of the show was sick. The band intro was one of my favorite parts, with the spotlight landing on each person in the band one at a time. Radio City is a huge room, and he did not shrink the show to fit it.

He opened with “Jean Skirt” and “Breathe,” then went into “Malcolm in the Middle,” which was so much fun live. A lot of the early set came off his new album, Do That Again, which came out in June, and he kept it moving through “Free.99,” “Difficult Love,” “Ain’t That the Truth,” and “X’s & O’s.” “Walk to Class” and “Bleed” sat in between.

The back half had the heavier songs. He has said “Gun to My Head” looks back on ending a relationship to chase stardom, and it landed differently coming late in a set at Radio City. The main set wound down through “Earrings,” the song from his 2024 mixtape Sweet Boy that went viral on TikTok and reached the Global Spotify Top 10 this spring, and “I Saw Your Face.”

Radio City is a seated venue, and everyone stood the entire time. You could tell the whole room was having a blast.

The encore started with “Do That Again” and a cover of Miranda Cosgrove’s “Leave It All to Me,” the iCarly theme. He closed with “Roommates,” a song from the early TikTok days, in the room where he’s now headlining.
