If I was tasked with making an “emo essentials” playlist, there is no doubt that several songs by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus would be among the first additions.
Listening to this band… honestly since I’ve understood music as “a thing”… I was delighted to see they were performing at a venue so close to me. What did I do to deserve this?
The openers of the night were incredible, setting the tone (and setting the bar) for the rest of the night– First up was Philly’s own alt-rock band Sleep Cycles with their latest project “Some Hell,” followed by Maryland’s emo band, Heartbent pushing their latest work, “At First Sight.”
The last performance before TRJA was Orlando-based pop-punk band: 408! This was not only my second time seeing 408 perform, but the second time I have seen them in Debonair (shoutout to Amber who covered that epic show!) – and they were just as amazing as ever. They celebrated the release of their 2025 album Over The Edge – Which debuted shortly after the show! They will be on all three locations of Vans Warped Tour’s come back later this year… If I manage to get myself a ticket, I will certainly fight my way to the front…
Speaking of epic bands on this year’s ‘Warped’ lineup… The headliners of the night: The one and only, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.
I have known their music since middle school, so I automatically associate their music with the foundation of my music taste. It was incredible hearing songs like “False Pretense” and “Face Down” from their debut album Don’t You Fake It (2006) live after so many years of playing them through my headphones!
On the more recent side of their discography, it was great hearing their latest single “Home Improvement” for the first time ever (and listening to it on repeat after the show ended!)
It was an honor to watch this show in such an intimate venue— A once in a lifetime opportunity I was not prepared to miss! TRJA made a casual fan into a bigger one– One who will never miss another opportunity to see them live again in the future!
The band will continue their The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus 2025 tour throughout the year! Check out the remainder of their tour dates here, and keep up with them via @redjumpsuit on socials!
