It is difficult to argue against the popularity and impact of Taylor Swift. With multiple Grammy awards, Swift has already had a long career that has cemented her as a household name. Over a decade into her work and now Taylor Swift is arguably in the height of her career: A sold out world tour, concert movie, and possible billionaire status would be enough to back that statement up.

Finishing up the South American leg of “The Eras Tour” this weekend, Swift is ending 2023 as a billionaire according to Bloomberg. This is in large part thanks to her tour- From the moment she announced “The Eras Tour,” the hype surrounding her first tour in nearly five years has been sky-high. Swift saw the demand and quickly added eight shows to her lineup. This was ultimately too much for ticket websites, causing some to crash due to all the traffic. Even with these problems, tickets for the tour sold out nearly instantly between fans and resellers.

Resellers have been a nag for Swift’s fans, as they know demand for Swift is high and thus they are able to upcharge tickets into the thousands. Some of these online ticket listings are not even authentic- Such high ticket prices, however, were not enough to ward off the crowds. Some people were willing to shell out the money for tickets. As she started her world tour, Swift has consistently been performing to sold out stadiums, starting in the United States, and now in South America.

Even with so many shows, not everyone will be seeing Swift live. With that, she brought “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” to theaters all around the globe. In the midst of the Screen Actors Guild strike, “The Eras Tour” Concert Film quickly took the number one spot in the domestic box office. Opening to a $123.5 million globally per the Hollywood Reporter. In another lucrative move, Swift managed to cut out studios from her film’s distribution, and instead opted to distribute the film directly through AMC Theatres.

Showing no signs of slowing down, Swift is scheduled to perform fifty-three more shows in 2024. She will be performing across Europe and Asia, before ending her tour in North America in Ontario, Canada. With 2023 being an incredibly successful year for her, who knows what the future holds for Taylor Swift.
