Review and Photos by Lara Ziccardi –

Mom Jeans are an alternative indie rock band from Berkeley, CA. Formed in 2014, they’ve released four albums, with their debut Best Buds released in 2016. Most recently, they released their fourth album Bear Market this past November. Currently, Mom Jeans are on tour with Summer Salt and Hunny.

Mom Jeans will be on tour April 7th, with their last stop in Seattle, WA. They will also be playing When We Were Young 2024 in Las Vegas in October.

Mom Jeans played Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ on Friday, March 15th. Program Director, Lara Ziccardi, head down to catch the show!

For starters, I’ve never been in a pit like Mom Jeans. The fans have incredibly high energy; and the best part is, the band matched. Mom Jeans are incredible performers, there wasn’t a dull moment in that show. I can confidently say that I had the time of my life in the pit, as it was rowdy in the best way possible.

Another thing to note was the amount of crowd surfers. If you’ve read my work or seen my photos before, one of my favorite things to photograph is crowd surfers – I definitely captured a few of them that night!

Some stand-out songs were “Edward 40Hands,” Death Cup,” “Hippo (In the Water),” and my personal favorite, “Danger Can’t.” I know this sounds a little corny but had the time of my life, it was so much fun! Not only are Mom Jeans great performers with a high and fun stage presence, and their fans had that energy in the pit.
