Montclair, NJ — May 1, 2024 — Montclair State University psychology student Kangela Guerrero is gearing up to compete for the coveted title of MISS NEW JERSEY USA® 2024. The highly anticipated pageant will unfold from June 21-23, 2024, at The Hilton Parsippany Hotel in Parsippany, NJ.
A multi-talented individual, the 22-year-old has proven her mettle both on and off the stage. Since 2022, she has been an integral member of 90.3 WMSC-FM, where her passion for broadcasting has flourished. Guerrero’s journey at the station began as a newscast for “The Morning Buzz,” the flagship morning show, before moving into the co-host position, where her charisma and on-air talent quickly captured the audience’s attention. Her year-long stint as a co-host solidified her reputation as a captivating host.
Guerrero’s commitment to broadcasting extends beyond the studio walls. She has participated in the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System Conference and Awards for two consecutive years, gaining valuable insights and honing her skills. Furthermore, she contributed to WMSC’s coverage of Montclair Pride 2023, showcasing her dedication to community engagement and inclusive storytelling.
In early 2024, Guerrero took on a new role as a DJ, bringing her empowering show “The Feminine Diaries” to 90.3’s airwaves. With each episode, she uplifts and inspires her audience, addressing topics relevant to modern women and fostering meaningful conversations.

Beyond her academic and broadcasting pursuits, Guerrero is a passionate advocate for Mental Health Awareness among adolescents and young adults, as well as women’s Cardiovascular Health. As she sets her sights on pursuing a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, she remains committed to amplifying her voice on important social issues.
