NEW YORK CITY, NY— Comic Con Day 2 featured a collaboration between Crunchyroll and Kodansha USA with headliner Hiro Mashima, most popular for creating the series FAIRY TALE. Mashima also created Rave Master, EDENS ZERO and FAIRY TALE: 100 YEARS QUEST.
Throughout the panel, Mashima described his inspirations and the struggle of maintaining an art style for characters that have been well-established in a long-standing series. As he spoke, he drew two exclusive pieces based on audience prompts.
He also gave the audience some insight as to the production of the manga itself and how the industry is shifting toward remote work to keep up with its popularity.
Fans young and old lined up to ask questions and remind him how inspirational he was to them. Mashima used his platform to encourage artists and push them to continue creating.\
