The Great Barrier Reef has been suffering from warmer weather and water temp as well as pollution and overfishing. In efforts to restore the coral system, they have discovered a new tool that involves the playing of dulcet sounds of nature under the waves. The quietness of the reef is keeping new fish away but a team of researchers led by marine biologists at the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom has placed speakers in the coral reef system with amazing results. Other researchers are studying the benefits of 3D printed coral to lab-grown hybrid coral but no matter the means it’ll take time and effort to restore the great barrier reef.
