Five Killed in Illinois Workplace Shooting

AURORA, ILLINOIS- Five people were killed and several injured in a workplace shooting on Friday.
Manufacturing firm, Henry Pratt Company, was the target of an active shooting. The police were notified of the shooting at 2 p.m., the situation was reported as “under control” within an hour.
Police have announced that they killed the gunman, believed to be a former employee, at the scene of the shooting.
Among those injured included five police officers who were shot during a shootout with the suspect. The officers are currently in the hospital, two of which were airlifted to Chicago area trauma centers.
“My heart goes out to the victims and their families who simply went to work today like any other day,” Aurora Police Chief Kristen Ziman said. “We offer our sincere condolences.”
This shooting comes exactly one year and a day after the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School massacre, where 17 students were killed.
