South Arcade brought a fantastic show to New York City’s Gramercy Theater on April 27th in support of Magnolia Park alongside Savage Hands and Hot Milk. Emerging from the United Kingdom and consisting of Harmony Cavelle (vocals), Harry Winks (guitar), Ollie Green (bass), and Cody Jones (drums), the up-and-coming band has been putting a Y2K twist on traditional pop-punk since their formation in 2021.

They began the night and started strong with “2005,” an upbeat, punchy track that serves as the title of their first EP. The stage presence South Arcade has is undeniable. They’re arguably one of the most high-energy bands I’ve ever seen live. The band had everyone in the crowd enchanted by their performance the entire time they were on that stage.

They also played their brand new track “Supermodels,” allowing the crowd to match their energy and jump along with them. Cavelle’s live vocals are an absolute masterpiece and left me speechless at times, especially during “DANGER” and “Riptide.” They closed out this epic performance with the viral TikTok hit, “stone cold summer.” South Arcade is an insanely talented band live, with each member bringing their own spark to their artistry.

I could hardly believe it was the Oxford natives’ first time touring in the United States, but I absolutely cannot wait for their return in the fall. You can check out an interview I did with Cavelle and Green in April discussing the new EP and summer touring plans here.
