Deathcore band, Fit for an Autopsy is currently on their US tour, “The Nothing That Is”, with supporting bands, Bodysnacher, Distant, Sylosis, and Judiciary. On Saturday, October 19, 2024, the New Jersey band made their way to Irving Plaza and put on the show of a lifetime.

All four opening bands brought the energy that the crowd exactly needed in order to prepare for Fit for an Autopsy to play. Judiciary was the definition of heavy metal with their intense bass and even crazier guitar features. Carrying the night on, Sylosis had the entire room moving with them as the mosh pits grew and their sound grew heavier with every song. The Netherland deathcore band, Distant was unbelievably lively. I thoroughly enjoyed watching each member perform as it was so apparent how much they cared about both their sound, and the crowd.

Rounding off the opening acts, Bodysnatcher provided the energy that the audience needed at this point of the night. Lead singer, Kyle Medina was not only entertaining to watch, but extremely powerful when it came to his sound. The entire band had such a palpable energy that the pit couldn’t help but mosh. Their ending song, “Murder8”, truly made the room alive and I had an amazing time watching Irving Plaza get shook to the ground.

Finally, the time came and Fit for an Autopsy took the stage. Now, to be completely honest, I had never seen a deathcore band live before this night. The first four bands definitely got me excited, however nothing could have prepared me for the pure amount of energy Fit for an Autopsy had for their audience. Their opening song, “Lower Purpose” brought the house completely down. The energy rose, the crowdsurfers came flying down the pit, and music truly shook the walls. Vocalist, Joe Bad, showcased his insane vocal capabilities throughout the night as it continued and his energy grew higher. This band was incredibly powerful in their entire performance and I can honestly say that this night’s concert made me a new deathcore enjoyer.
