College Hall Rededicated to be Named After Retiring MSU President

June 22 MONTCLAIR- The newly renovated College Hall at Montclair State University was re-dedicated today, less than a year after the building reopened following a lengthy refurbishment. The University renamed the building Susan A. Cole Hall after Montclair State’s 8th president of the same name. 

external photo of susan cole hallPresident Cole led Montclair State for 23 years, building the campus to what it is today. She oversaw the development of numerous academic buildings including the Feliciano School of Business and the state-of-the-art School of Communication and Media. During her tenure, the University grew to over double the size of what it was before she became President. 

 

President Cole is retiring from the University June 30th, 2021. 

photo of president cole standing at a podiumWhen asked what she will remember most from Montclair State, Dr. Cole said she will take away “the memory of all the generations of students who have come, succeeded and graduated while [she] was here”, adding that she loves “watching them walk across the stage at commencement and knowing that [the University] did something to change their lives”.

 

Dr. Cole will be succeeded by Jonathan G.S. Koppell as new President of MSU.
