Shannon Daly interviews Yam Haus!
On April 29, the Minneapolis-based three piece visited the lower east side to perform at the famous Mercury Lounge, host of various upincoming independent artists. Yam Haus, famous for hits such as Pop Game and The Thrill is back with a new, rock-influenced sound that opens their audience two-fold.
The sold-out show featured Landon Conrath as the opener, a high energy artist also from Minneapolis started the show with a bang. He successfully warmed up the crowd with songs like 2am, Papercuts, and Acetone. The crowd sang, danced, and shouted along to make a great start to a memorable night.
Yam Haus was no different. Their loveable, unapologetic energy shined through along with their natural charisma and stunning vocals. The highlights of the night were The Thrill, Adriana, and Ready to Go. The attempt at a mosh pit during the final song was also great to hype up the crowd with Landon and his crew coming on stage to end the show. You can tell these boys love working with eachother and have a passion on stage that is hard to compete with.
The live shows from Yam Haus are arguably even better than the recorded sessions, something they themselves even have come to terms with in the interview. We are excited to see where the band goes with their new rock-influenced style, and hopefully we can catch them on their upcoming fall show.
