Olivia Jade, daughter of Lori Loughlin, has returned to YouTube after her notorious college admissions scandal. Loughlin allegedly paid a $500,000 bribe to the University of Southern California for her daughters to be admitted.
Jade has not posted since March 10th and on Sunday of this week uploaded a video titled “hi again”. In the short 2-minute video she tells her 1.95 million subscribers that she is back after her long hiatus because she misses YouTube. She said she was “terrified to make this video and come back” and wants to “start taking smaller steps in the right direction.” This video was not the first time she’s attempted to return to social media, back in August she flipped off the media in a now-deleted Instagram post.
According to legal experts, there is strong evidence that Olivia Jade was an accomplice in her parents’ actions, and posed as a student-athlete to get into the University of Southern California. E-mails were uncovered in which Jade’s parents had her pose for pictures on rowing machines so that she could be presented as a recruit for the school’s crew team, despite not actually participating in the sport. U.S. federal prosecutors showed that one of Olivia Jade’s guidance counselors questioned her acceptance to the crew team despite not participating in the sport, and Jade’s father confronted the counselor.
As of right now, Jade is not allowed to comment on the legal situation of her parents or her alleged involvement, but her parents are currently facing fraud and bribery charges, and up to 50 years in federal prison.
