Major League Baseball Hall-of-Famer and former New York Yankees and Mets catcher Yogi Berra passed away. During his 19 year playing career Berra was an 18- time All- Star, three- time American League Most Valuable Player, and a 10- time World Series Champion with 71 career series hits, the most in MLB history.
After he retired, Berra coached both the Yankees, and Mets lead the Mets to the world series in 1973. Berra’s death comes exactly 69 years after his major league debut. Berra died of natural causes at the age of 90.
