Back in May after his EDC New York set, Oliver Heldens teased everyone to stay close to social media. A week later the news broke when RPM Presents announced that Heldens will be taking over Governor’s Island along with many others to bring New York; Heldeep Island. Supporting acts included; Niko the Kid, Bee’s Knees, Loud Luxury, Throttle, and Chocolate Puma.
News of bad weather brought worry to many show-goers, with heavy thunderstorms predicted for the weekend. However, the morning of, Heldens took to his Twitter account to tell everyone that the show will go on.
#HeldeepIsland NYC! The rain won't stop us! ?

Coming off the excitement from his first performance at Chicago’s Lollapalooza Music Festival, Heldens brought all of his deep and future house hits and much more! Some tracks you don’t usually hear in his sets that he played included, Tchami’s remix of AlunaGeorge’s ‘You Know You Like It’, Steve Angello’s ‘Knas’, and his newly untitled collaboration with Knife Party. Due to the heavier electro sound of the track many are speculating that the collaboration may instead be with Heldens’ alias, Hi-Lo. At the end of the night Heldens called on Chocolate Puma to take the stage for their closing set and ended his set with their very well received collaboration, ‘Space Sheep’ at the same time.
Weather aside the night made for a very entertaining evening of dancing with the New York City skyline on facing the stage making for an even more memorable night.
