On December 2nd, NBC News Anchor Lester Holt came to Montclair State University to receive the Allen B. DuMont Broadcaster of the Year Award where he was honored at a Colloquium Series. Holt talked to WMSC about advice he would give to future journalists, his take on the election as the mediator of the most watched Presidential Debate in history, and the most rewarding part of his job.
At the Colloquium on the seventh floor of University Hall, Holt was interviewed by College of the Arts Professor, Marc Rosenweig, who also presented the award. After the Colloquium and Q&A session, students Luke Pomo, Leah Collie, and Shea Cereznik explained why they believed the Nightly News host deserved the award for 2016.
Along with the Colloquium, Holt was interviewed on an episode of “Carpe Diem” and was given a tour of the new Communication and Media Arts building.
