Kate is a senior studying Communications and Media Arts. Last year she was WMSC’s News Director and prior she was a news reporter. She hosted The Morning Buzz, Keeping Up With Kate, and MSU Newsroom. She has worked with the Center for Cooperative Media, and the MSU News Lab on projects including NJ Decides The 2017 Gubernatorial Election Live TV Broadcast. On campus, she is also involved with Newman Catholic Campus Ministry. She has a love for the (phinally) world champion Philadelphia Eagles, Philly cheesesteak, and anything south jersey (pork roll never taylor ham). Her interests include languages, gym, anything with the color blue, football in general, The Office, The Wendy Williams Show, Stephen Colbert, and traveling. Her dream job is to become a TV talk show host. She is honored to serve as the new Station Manager for the 2018-2019 academic year!
Amanda is thrilled to be the program director for the 2018-2019 school year. As a senior and studying Audio and Sound Design, she has focused her work in editing and production work. She’s excited to work with the rest of the SMT, and is excited for all the experiences to come our way.
Pam is a junior studying Television and Digital Media with a concentration in Audio/Sound Design. She is excited to be the Music Director for the new school year, and hopes to bring cool new finds to the radio’s music selection. She has hosted her own show “The Jam,” and loves just about anything indie. In her spare time, she can be found either in the WMSC office listening to music, or walking around campus with her headphones on.

Dani is a junior TVDM major with a concentration in audio at Montclair State University. She joined WMSC in the spring of 2017, and soon discovered her passion for audio production. She loves creating new content and puts a lot of time and effort into everything she does. Dani is also the host of a music show called “Alternative Energy”. Dani hopes to gain more leadership experience with her new position as production director. In addition, she is excited to continue to produce new creative content for on-air broadcasting at WMSC..
Tyler is a Junior studying Communications and Media Arts. A huge Philadelphia sports fan, you can always talk to Tyler about the Phillies, Eagles, Flyers, or 76ers. He joined the radio station his freshman year after completing the Apprentice DJ Program. He now runs his own radio show, “At The Buzzer” where he covers the latest in all sports. As Sports Director Tyler hopes to get everyone involved and continue to improve on the established level of professionalism of the team.
Melissa is a Senior TVDM major with a concentration in television production. She joined WMSC through the music team her sophomore year and has been hosting her radio show Out of Sound, Out of Mind for the past two semesters. She has a love for alternative music and is excited to take on this role and help promote the station through establishing great partnerships with venues.
Jeffrey Ramella is a Junior Television and Digital Media major with a Television Production concentration. He is very excited to join WMSC as Web Director.
Jeff has a great passion for web development and graphic design and hopes to create the best user experience for the station’s viewers! His favorite hobbies include shooting/editing video, sound recording/mixing, and singing with his band!
Molly Jenkins is a Jersey Shore native and a junior studying Communication and Media Arts at Montclair State. She joined WMSC through the News Team her freshman year doing newscasts on air and being news contributor on the Morning Buzz as well as a host. Molly is very excited to be Social Media Director and use her passion for sharing content that brings people joy.
Nicholas Cherrey is a sophomore Television and Digital Media Major with a concentration in audio and sound design at Montclair State University. After being on the engineering team at the station for some time, he is now taking on the role of the engineering director. His enjoyment of using audio and music equipment and having a knack for fixing things brought him to this position with WMSC.
Pat has hosted a weekly music show for 4 semesters and is excited to join the ranks of the Student Management Team as Assistant Program Director 2018-2019. He’s very exited to be able to get more music heard and more people to amazing live shows. Pat can also be heard on SiriusXM Entertainment Weekly’s 1-on-1 with Larry Flick as a guest panelist.
AJ is a Sophomore, double majoring in Political Science and TV production. WMSC News reporter and Assistant Opinion Editor for The Montclarion, Co-Host of the Sons of Liberty radio show and podcast. AJ lives by his favorite quote by Ronald Reagan, “When you can’t make them see the light, make them feel the heat.”
Austin Jeffers is a sophomore here at MSU, starting out as a new DJ at the beginning of freshman year and ending up as the newest Assistant Music Director at WMSC! As one of the freshest members at the SMT team, he looks forward to bringing the freshest Alternative and Indie Rock, working on hosting podcasts from the Music Team, and bringing more live bands to record and share with the MSU community. Austin feels so lucky and grateful to work with such amazingly fun people, and be able to share his talent with the WMSC Radio Station
Josh aka Josh host of The Island is a sophomore at Montclair State university majoring in Film . Josh joined WMSC In the fall of 2017 as a news contributor and a member of the production team and eventually became Assistant Production Director in January of 2018. He will continue as Assistant Production Director and resident Meme King of WMSC in the 2018-2019 school year and he looks forward to producing anything and everything for WMSC. Kaitlyn is a Senior studying Marketing and Pre-Law. She joined WMSC working with the social media and music teams during her Junior year. Kaitlyn is very excited to be apart of WMSC because of her passion for music and love of alternative bands and concerts. She is excited to help promote the station through establishing great partnerships with venues and give the opportunity for students to see shows!
Frankie Perez is a Senior Journalism major who found his love for radio last year as a newscaster and then a Morning Buzz Host for WMSC. He is still upset with himself that he wasn’t a busy bee his freshman year, he could have been a part of radio so much sooner, but it’s better to be here later than never. Frankie likes long walks on the beach, drinking Piña Coladas in the rain, stinging (singing?) along to the High School Musical 2 soundtrack, and making absolutely horrible bee related puns now that he is the Senior Producer of The Morning Buzz. Frankie cannot pollen-wait (pollinate?) to be super involved with The Morning Buzz this year, and he is even more excited to bee (bee?) working with this amazing student management team for the 2018-2019 school year.
Jess is a Senior majoring in English. She joined WMSC in Fall of 2017. She loves all things disney and animals and she is excited for what’s in store for this year at the station!
Ms. Poland is the General Manager and Faculty Adviser of WMSC-FM. She also teaches Radio Production and Podcast Production at Montclair State. Before joining Montclair State University, Ms. Poland was Director of Talent & Industry Relations at SiriusXM Radio where she negotiated and managed interviews, events and performances with A-level Hollywood actors, celebrities and musicians for more than 135 SiriusXM channels. Prior to joining SiriusXM, she was a Segment Producer at ABC News Good Morning America where she booked and produced breaking news, cultural stories, entertainment and the summer concert series. Her work has also appeared on ABC World News, 20/20 and Nightline. She often contributed stories to abcnews.com and to the first network initiative aimed at Hispanic audiences, ABC News Exclusiva. Ms. Poland continues her work as a US correspondent for “El Exprimidor,” an award-winning news and current events radio show in Argentina. As an on-air talent since 2002, she has reported on four US Presidential Elections, the Afghanistan and Iraq Wars, relevant breaking news, feature stories and entertainment news. She served on the Community Advisory Board (CAB) for WFUV, the public radio station licensed to Fordham University, for five years. Ms. Poland brings to MSU a unique combination of extensive experience in broadcast journalism, content development, programming, music discovery and production, social media, film and professional contacts that span the globe.
