On Thursday, February 4th The Wellmont Theatre in Montclair, NJ hosted the “Welcome to the Zoo” tour which included RGF Productions, Post Malone, Remy Boyz, and Fetty Wap. The line to get into the theatre wrapped around outside onto Bloomfield Avenue from the Seymour Street entrance. Workers walked up and down the line putting wristbands on the guests attending who were 21 or older. They also yelled at anyone who tried to cut the line. Right outside the entrance to the Wellmont were three tour busses and a trailer. Some people on line were chanting to the busses as they walked by them, but there was no response.
Music was playing right away after passing through the outside security to get into the theatre. DJ S Dot was performing for everyone to pile in and dance to. When it reached around 8:30 p.m., the first opener for Fetty Wap was a 14 year old singer named Liam Lis. He performed 3 songs for the crowd, one of them being his hit called “4 The Luv.” Following Lis, RGF Productions introduced about seven other performers, each singing or rapping one or two songs each. At around 10:00 p.m., Post Malone performed for the crowd singing some his hits. Two of his most popular songs right now that he performed were “Too Young” and “White Iversion.”
After Post Malone, Fetty Wap and Remy Boyz were introduced and brought out. The crowd was going crazy, but at some points, the crowd was dangerous. There were some fights that broke out among the crowd so people can get closer up the stage. As soon as Fetty Wap came out on stage, the fights stopped. Everyone was listening to him perform. The Paterson native sang all of his hits such as “679,” “Come my Way,” “RGF Island,” and “Again.” He also performed songs off his new album called “Fetty Wap” including, “Time” and “Jugg.” Fetty Wap closed the night with his famous song, “Trap Queen.” Right after he sang this song, he threw a huge handful of $20 bills into two different sections of the audience in General Admission.
Fetty Wap got into a motorcycle accident in September and Fetty said to the audience that the doctor said he would not be able to perform for a while. But he proved the doctor wrong and said that he is better and performing even though he is not 100% fully recovered. Fetty also said that he loves New Jersey and he got on his knees to thank the crowd saying that that was the only place in the entire tour he would get on his knees. The entire audience was screaming and applauding for the successful start of the “Welcome to the Zoo” tour.
