Program Director:

Mike Stringham

Mike is excited to become WMSC’s new program director and station leader for the 2017-2018 school year. He is excited to bring more concerts and studio sessions to the station in our new building and studios. His overall goal is to help the station grow, as well as teaching others and helping them reach their full potential in radio and in life. Mike still likes math rock and post rock (never grow out of that).

Lataya Rothmiller

Lataya is a south jersey native, a journalism major, and aspiring news anchor. She joined the station fall semester of 2014, during her freshman year. She went right to the news team and became a news analyst on The Morning Buzz. She is excited to spend her senior year in the programming department!

Senior Sports Director:

Sean McChesney

Sean is a Senior Studying Television and Digital Media with a concentration in Sports Media and Journalism. Sean has been a huge sports fan his entire life, especially when it comes to the New York Mets and Dallas Cowboys. Sean joined WMSC in 2014 and has served as Sports Director since 2015 and he will now take the reigns as Senior Sports Director in his last year. Sean has had a passion for sports broadcasting his entire life and hopes to make it his profession after graduation.

Production Director:

Christian Curatola

Christian Curatola is a junior majoring in TV Production and History. He is now taking on the role of Production Director. He held three assistant positions in engineering, programming and production. He is a host on “The Morning Buzz” and “This Week in History” WMSC’s only history based talk show. He can’t wait to bring all of his past experiences to the production department.

Austin Resnick

Austin is a senior at Montclair, majoring in Television and Digital Media, with a Sound/Audio concentration. He’s been at WMSC since his sophomore year starting as an ADJ and working his way to Music Librarian. He hosts Indie Nation and has experience with engineering. Austin looks forward to giving WMSC a unique indie sound.

News Director:

Kate Braunstein

Kate is a junior majoring in Communication and Media Arts. She joined WMSC last year on the news team, and is also a morning buzz host. Her interests include anything with the color blue, Blink 182, traveling, food (except hot dogs), football, languages, animals, and hanging out with friends. She is extremely excited to start as News Director for the ’17-’18 year!

Sports Director:

Sam Flesher

Sam is a senior here at Montclair State, majoring in Television and Digital Media, with a Sports Media and Journalism concentration. He’s been at WMSC from the first day he got to Montclair State, so becoming Assistant Sports Director is like a dream come true. Sam also co-hosts his sports talk show, Double F Sports, with Nicholas Flaherty. You can always pick Sam out of a crowd because of his long hair and the fact that he seems to only own clothes that sport the Detroit Red Wings on them. Sports is his passion and pretty much determines his happiness, and he hopes to use that passion to make a career in radio for a long time.

Nick Franciosa

Nick is a senior Television and Digital Media major with a concentration in Audio. In his role, he handles live broadcasts and board operations. His love for technology and knack for repairing technology has lead him to where he is today with WMSC.

Heather Murphy

Heather flourishes most when she is caught with his headphones on full blast, and can’t hear anyone at all. She also promotes the station by creating events and reaching out to promoters and venues to establish great partnerships for WMSC and our audience.

Sean Martin

Sean is a senior majoring in sports media and journalism at MSU, Sean has spent most of his time with the station’s sports team during his first two years. His experience as an online sportswriter and WMSC radio personality led him to the web and social media team, where he manages the @WMSCSports and other social media accounts. He is excited to take the role of Web Director and will continue to strive to do the best he can for WMSC.

Gina Bakri

Gina joined WMSC last year as a newscaster and is very excited to be the new Social Media Director. Gina has a passion for news and is excited to use her social media skills  and reporting skills to serve the station.

Hiral Patel

Hiral is a Sophomore, majoring in Political Science and minoring in International Studies. WMSC News reporter and Staff Writer for The Montclarion, News Junkie. Hardworking, caring, weird, talkative person who just loves late night drives with snacks. I live by the saying, “Dream Big,” because without dreams you can’t achieve.

Pam Burrows

Pam is very excited to be the new Music Librarian. You can find Pam on campus with her headphones on. She loves music and music discovery is her thrill. She hopes to use her love and passion for music to help give WMSC a unique alternative sound no other station has.

Amanda is a second semester junior, and is a Television and Digital Media major with a concentration of Audio and Sound Design. This is her third semester at Montclair and is having a blast with her radio show Siess the Day.

Tyler Monahan

Tyler is a Sophomore studying Communications and Media Arts. A huge Philadelphia sports fan, you can always talk to Tyler about the Phillies, Eagles, Flyers, or 76ers. He joined the radio station his freshman year and after completing the Apprentice DJ Program he became cohost of “Upon Further Review” with Web Director Sean Martin. As Assistant Sports Director Tyler hopes to learn the ins and outs of running the sports team while also making the entire experience enjoyable for everyone involved.

Leslie Arrobo

Leslie Arrobo has a minor in GLBTQ studies. She is excited for this upcoming junior because she is the new Office Manager. And she will also be hosting Rad Indie Vibes. Leslie loves to be a positive and happy individual. WMSC has given Leslie the opportunity of a lifetime and she hopes to inspire others. Leslie’s dream is to become a radio station host and write own autobiography.

Senior Producer:

Michael Grippa

Michael Grippa is a 5th year senior at Montclair State University pursuing a B.A. in Theatre Studies. Previously, Michael has served as Production Director and Assistant Production Director at WMSC. He also has a background in theatrical sound design having served as the Sound Designer on the Montclair State University productions of The Drunken City and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and Assistant Sound Designer on Iphigenia, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, and The Winter’s Tale. In his new position as Senior Radio Producer for WMSC, Michael looks to continue producing quality radio content for all to enjoy.

General Manager:

Anabella Poland

Ms.Poland is the General Manager and Faculty Adviser of WMSC-FM. She also teaches Radio Production and Podcast Production at Montclair State. Before joining Montclair State University, Ms. Poland was Director of Talent & Industry Relations at SiriusXM Radio where she negotiated and managed interviews, events and performances with A-level Hollywood actors, celebrities and musicians for more than 135 SiriusXM channels. Prior to joining SiriusXM, she was a Segment Producer at ABC News Good Morning America where she booked and produced breaking news, cultural stories, entertainment and the summer concert series. Her work has also appeared on ABC World News, 20/20 and Nightline. She often contributed stories to abcnews.com and to the first network initiative aimed at Hispanic audiences, ABC News Exclusiva. Ms. Poland continues her work as a US correspondent for “El Exprimidor,” an award-winning news and current events radio show in Argentina. As an on-air talent since 2002, she has reported on four US Presidential Elections, the Afghanistan and Iraq Wars, relevant breaking news, feature stories and entertainment news. She served on the Community Advisory Board (CAB) for WFUV, the public radio station licensed to Fordham University, for five years. Ms. Poland brings to MSU a unique combination of extensive experience in broadcast journalism, content development, programming, music discovery and production, social media, film and professional contacts that span the globe.
