Meet the Staff

Silas 2015Station Manager: Silas Kezengwa

Silas is a senior at Montclair State University majoring in Television & Digital Media. He’s always desired to enter the field of radio and television as a broadcaster. He is a 2015 national Intercollegiate Broadcasting System winner for Best Program Director and seven-time finalist-award winner, of which includes Best On-Air Personality. He hosts his own talk program entitled Silas LIVE! and can be found at WMSC always laughing, running around & telling interesting stories.



Programming Director: Elaina Crow

Elaina is a graduating senior at MSU in the TVDM department. As director, Elaina works with her team to create fresh content for WMSC and connect with the DJs as well as the listeners.



Web Director: Francesca LaBiancoFrancesca

Francesca is a senior majoring in Television & Digital Media with a concentration in Production. As Web Director, she makes sure WMSC has an active presence across the web and social media outlets, while interacting with listeners via the web!


News Director: Elena MedinaELena 2015

Elena is majoring in Journalism and minoring in Latin American and Latino Studies. She co-created the bilingual news-show Nuestra Voz along with José Cortez and Juan Contla, where they play Latin alternative music – but mostly Selena.




Engineering Director: Craig Gorbunoffcraig

Craig handles all of our live broadcasting as well as keeping our studios up and running. His love of technology is equal to his love of sports which, has led to his sports talk program Craig’s Call.

Sports Director: Sam Romano

Sam is a senior, majoring in Television and Digital Media with a concentration in Sports Media Journalism. Her favorite sports team is the Jets, after the Red Hawks of course!




Promotions Director:  Brandon Simanski

Brandon Simanski is a junior majoring in Television & Digital Media. Originally from Hunterdon County, NJ, Brandon is a hard working individual with a fun way of doing things. If he isn’t in the studio, you can find him skating around campus or writing songs in his residence hall.


Ivan2 Music Director: Ivan Arevalo

Ivan Arevalo is a senior majoring in Public Relations and Public and Professional Writing. Ivan works to take new approaches with showcasing underground artists. Using his passion for new music, and the ability to perform amazing lip syncing performances of your favorite Taylor Swift songs, Ivan hopes to continue introducing and welcoming listeners to WMSC’s fantastic world of music.



Asst. Programming Director: Jose unnamedCortez

Jose Cortez is Television & Digital Media major with a concentration in Television Production. He co-hosts WMSC’s News’ Nuestra Voz and The Weekly Express.  Being a member here at WMSC has been the best thing to ever happen in his life.



Asst. Web Director: Craig Peterscraig

Craig is a Fine Arts major with a concentration in Photography. Everyday, he uses his passion at WMSC by taking incredible pictures – capturing all the special and fun moments that happen.

Nick is a sophomore Television & Digital Media major with a concentration in Audio. In his role, he handles live broadcasts and board operations. His love for technology and knack for repairing technology has lead him to where he is today with WMSC.


Asst. Sports Director: Sean McChesney

Sean is a sophomore majoring in Television and Digital Media with a concentration in Sports Media and Journalism. Sean got his start with WMSC in the fall of 2014 and has had a passion for sports broadcasting his entire life. Sean hosts his own sports show “SMC Sports” and focuses on MLB, NFL, NHL, NBA, and more.

Natalie creates and maintains connections with promoters and venues to establish great partnerships and opportunities for WMSC and our audience. Though she is an English major, she is most passionate about music, especially live music. You can find her always looking for an awesome show to attend.






Asst. News Director: Juan Contla

Juan is an English major with a minor in Journalism, his main focus is creating and producing special content for news such as The Morning Buzz & Nuestra Voz. On top of all that Juan likes to anchor news himself with newscasts and hosting.



Asst. Music Director: Laila AbuelhawaLaila

Laila is majoring in Journalism at MSU. She aspires to report for music and travel, do interviews, showcase new bands/music. She hosts Rock N’ Rage on WMSC, and plays lots of EDM and various forms of rock.






MorganMorgan Princiotta: Office Manager

Morgan is majoring in Communications and Media Arts with minors in Business & Public/Professional Writing. Her she enjoys video games, singing, organizing the WMSC office and finding new music to play on her show Keepin’ It East. She believes WMSC is the best part about Montclair State and encourages everyone to join!



Anabella PolandAnabella Poland: General Manager

Ms.Poland serves as General Manager of WMSC-FM. Before joining Montclair State University, Ms. Poland was Director of Talent & Industry Relations at SiriusXM Radio where she negotiated and managed interviews, events and performances with A-level Hollywood actors, celebrities and musicians for more than 135 SiriusXM channels. Prior to joining SiriusXM, she was a Segment Producer at ABC News Good Morning America where she booked and produced breaking news, cultural stories, entertainment and the summer concert series. Her work has also appeared on ABC World News, 20/20 and Nightline. She often contributed stories to and to the first network initiative aimed at Hispanic audiences, ABC News Exclusiva. Ms. Poland continues her work as a US correspondent for “El Exprimidor,” an award-winning news and current events radio show in Argentina. As an on-air talent since 2002, she has reported on three US Presidential Elections, the Afghanistan and Iraq Wars, relevant breaking news, feature stories and  entertainment news. She served on the Community Advisory Board (CAB) for WFUV, the public radio station licensed to Fordham University, for five years. Ms. Poland brings to MSU a unique combination of extensive experience in broadcast journalism, content development, programming, music discovery and production, social media, film and professional contacts that span the globe.
